Having been a trainer since 2001, Doug has years of experience in strength and conditioning and athletic rehabilitation. He specializes in working with first responders, army personnel and athletes ranging from middle school up to the professional level including professional boxers, MMA and NFL athletes.
In graduate school Doug spent much of the time in the Exercise Physiology Lab conducting research on different effects various training equipment has on muscle activation, strength and endurance. This earned him a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and his thesis was published in the “Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.”
In the summer of 2008, he accomplished his lifelong dream and opened RISE ABOVE ® where he dedicates his focus towards helping others achieve their strength and conditioning goals.
Doug specializes in customized and innovative programming that suite the need of the individual to maximize their athletic potential, reduce injury risks and achieve success both in and out of the gym.
